Marquette Volleyball Heads to the UNI Invitational for Three Weekend Matches

June 27, 2008

MILWAUKEE - Marquette volleyball coach Pati Rolf will serve as a referee in Green Bay, Wis. this weekend for the FIVB World League as the United States National Team takes on Finland.

Rolf returns to officiating this weekend after working the 2007 Pan American Games last summer. One of only a small number of women in the world to referee on the international level, Rolf was certified as an international referee by the FIVB in 2003.

The matches Friday and Saturday mark only the second of three times during the tournament in which the U.S. team will play on American soil.

The World League is a 16-team tournament with more than $13 million at stake. The finals for the tournament will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on July 23-27, a little more than a week before the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
